My name is Thomas Morgan, and I am running for Marion County Commission because I believe local government should serve the people — not silence them.
I’m a Tennessee resident, a business owner, and someone who has spent most of my adult life solving real-world problems instead of talking about them.
I've been writing this page as a first ammendment protest and got into my own unique version of political humor in Marion County, hoping to bring light to what I saw as blatant violations of the fundamentals of American government, the constitution and Tennessee Laws that were happening from our elected officials. I learned I wasn't alone in this concern, but many could not speak out out of fear of becoming a target,
Currently, I am in federal courts fighting for basic constitutional rights. The current administration is on my own dollar. While humor is a great way to make things relatable and digestible, in the end, humor can only go so far. At a point, you have to take action, So Im asking for your support to get a seat on the local legislative branch where I can work to actually change Marion for the better, for the citizens, not the mega developers and select few.
I stand for honesty, transparency, and accountability — especially when it’s uncomfortable.
I didn’t grow up with political connections. I grew up learning things the hard way. In my 20s, I realized that if I wanted to succeed — and protect myself — I had to understand how systems actually work: law, government, finance, and power.
I’ve always been a hyper-learner. When something doesn’t make sense, I dig until it does. When rules are applied unevenly, I notice. When systems stop serving people, I ask why.
Government should not be a mystery club or a gatekeeping operation.
It should be understandable, lawful, and answerable to the public.
I’ve worked in real estate and small-business problem-solving for over 15 years.
Earlier in my career, I was active in the Chattanooga real estate investor community, where I helped lead investor groups and worked alongside the city to address condemned and abandoned properties — turning blight into opportunity and restoring neighborhoods instead of writing them off. Ive studied local economics not only in our region but nation wide.
I’ve also spoken nationally on financial education, teaching everyday people how money, debt, and ownership actually work. I’ve had the priveledge to speak for organizations including Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Legacy Education, helping others understand how to build stability instead of dependence.
At my core, I’m a builder — of businesses, systems, and solutions.

I am running because I have personally experienced what happens when the government forgets who it works for. I heard countless stories of people's lies getting ruined by local police, sheriffs, and politicians.
Tens of people have warned me Im playing a dangerous game, but to me the Constitution matters.
Separation of Powers, Matters.
I have been detained and removed from public meetings while lawfully speaking during public comment. I have witnessed retaliatory behavior by law enforcement, including attempts to access private property and vehicles without warrants.
That is not acceptable.
And it is not American.
I am running because I have watched the Drug Task Force operate with profit incentives, civil asset forfeiture abuse, and little public accountability — harming trust and targeting the most vulnerable.
I am running because I have seen selective enforcement and selective prosecution, based not on justice, but on class, status, or who someone knows.
I am running because I’ve seen citizens left behind — not because they lack work ethic, but because opportunity, infrastructure, and support are denied or ignored.
I moved to Marion County to build a homestead and agri-tourism business — to invest here, not extract from it. As part of that commitment, I raised concerns about a dangerous railroad crossing and deteriorating public infrastructure and presented solutions.
I was dismissed and belittled.
My concerns were minimized.
One week later, a tourist on my property was struck by a train.
Instead of accountability, I was treated as the problem for speaking up.
Since then, I have watched county leadership bend rules for developers while everyday citizens are ignored, shamed, or publicly humiliated for asking for basic services — safe roads, stable bridges, or clean water.
I’ve seen commissioners push. to spend millions paving roads the county doesn’t even own, while the public is told there’s “no money” — sometimes claiming road funds are only $10,000.
I’ve watched citizens and journalists harassed and constitutional rights treated as inconveniences. I’ve documented these issues publicly so they cannot be quietly buried.
I've seen public records hidden because it shows the corruption.
I cant even begin to tell the horror stories of people getting railroaded by the legal system., from I've received in phone calls and messages,
That is not the Marion County we deserve.
I am not running for a title.
I am running because silence has become complicity.
Local government should:
I believe Marion County can do better — and I am willing to do the work to prove it.
That is who I am.
That is why I’m running.
Here is a great interview with Ruric Brandt and Marion County Messenger Page. If you haven't seen their coverage of this election or local news, you definitely should check out their truly unbiased coverage.
Constitutional oaths matter. Honor it.
County meetings are a safe space for citizens to redress grievances and hold the elected accountable. Not the other way around,
This video did you do appears through the veil of I'm just how abusive and narcissistic the current administration is. They're openly joking about taking a little people's cars that struggle with addiction, so they can profit, and continue to weaponize their police power, yet the sheriff's oath of ethics is to protect people's constitutional rights, first and Foremost.
The date is approaching fast and we’re making preparations. On the 250th anniversary of America, WE Must stand up against the sitting tyrants. If you would like more information on the election process please visit Marionvotes.com

One main thing I want for all of us is the best and brightest we can when it comes to hiring. One main thing I see we need to have as a county is a team of dedicated grant writers to maximize our chances of federal and private grants for all our towns and communities.
County Commissioners may not run departments — but we control the money, the rules, and the oversight. I intend to use those powers responsibly and visibly.
